The foundation of the parish St. Ludwig and the construction of our church took place at the end of the 19th century when Berlin was becoming a metropolis. On June 29, 1897 St. Ludwig was solemnly inaugurated.
Church patron is Saint Ludwig IX, King of France who also connects the parish with the district Wilmersdorf. Symbol of this connection is the French lily, of the Bourbon kings, that can be found everywhere in the church.
The architect August Menken has constructed the neo-gothic church. The tower, with a height of 70m, is hold by four in-door pillars. Since 2002 the church St. Alberbus Magnus in Halensee is also part of St. Ludwig. The parish is run by the Franciscan.
St. Ludwig is a very active community with many groups and events.
